MSAH Chinese New Year Celebration

Hey Everyone,
Hoped you guys had a great new year and an amazing start to the new semester so far.
The Malaysian Singaporean Association of Houston (MSAH) would like to invite all RSF members to their annual Chinese New Year Celebration in Houston on Jan 30.
You can expect to get a 10 course (with Yu Shang!) dinner and other activities such as Ang Pow for Kids, Lion dance performance, Lucky gift and performances.

Also, MSAH is recruiting performers for cultural dance, singing or musical instrumental performances. Please let RSF know if you are interested.

Singaporean Thanksgiving Dinner

Dinner Event with Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU)

Hi Everyone,
The Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) wants to have dinner with current Rice University students who have lived/studied in Singapore.
If you don’t know what the OSU does, here is their mission statement.
“The Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) plans and coordinates a whole-of-government effort to engage overseas Singaporeans to keep them emotionally connected to Singapore. OSU works with many partners to organise and support a suite of programmes that reaches out to a wide demographic of overseas Singaporeans.”
Event is on 19 October, Night. We will forward details for transport and location closer to the date.

RSF Go Karting Session

Hey everyone, as the first activity of RSF this year, we're organizing a trip to MSR Houston for some karting this Saturday! We're looking to leave after 2pm, and it costs $65 for three 15-min sessions of karting.
If you're into high-speed, adrenaline-inducing action, or if you just wanna hang out with Singlish-speaking people for a change, or if you miss the awesome El Presidente, please join us this Saturday! We have 7 spots open, so sign up before they are gone!

RSF-Alumni Annual BBQ

We would like to everyone who are in Singapore for a very simple and casua get-together at Mandarin Gardens once again - it's a nice, spacious condo in the East with a good BBQ set up and a big pool, in case you fancy a swim.

Price: (alumni/current): $20/person (to help cover food/drinks/supplies)
Price: (new students/parents): Free ... you'll have plenty of expenses to worry about over the next few years

Year end dinner

The Office of the President would like to invite students from Singapore and Malaysia for a year end dinner on Saturday, April 25th.
You should plan to meet in front of Lovett Hall at 6:00 p.m.
